Old world style; new world technology
Over a century ago, Charles Rolls, co-founder of Rolls-Royce, extolled the virtues of the electric car and considered its future viability.
Today, as the automotive industry moves toward full electrification, and vehicle owners and buyers are compelled to follow suit, British company Lunaz Design re-engineers and restores the most beautiful historic cars in the world, furthering their legacies for generations to come.
Founded by David Lorenz in 2018, motivated by his passion for classic automobiles and a desire to build the powertrain of the future, Lunaz reimagines and electrifies the coveted marques in its Silverstone workshop. Every vintage machine is stripped back to bare metal and remastered, with exhaustive attention to detail and modification to the client’s taste.
All salvageable parts are upcycled, and sustainable materials introduced - including plush carpet woven from recovered fishing nets, and vegan upholstery options.
Lunaz Applied Technologies takes this expertise further, supporting the circular economy on a wider scale. Facing the dilemma of two billion vehicles on the planet, and the demise of the internal combustion engine, the company is converting refuse trucks to zero emissions, and extending the service to commercial fleets.
Lunaz has no interest in building new cars. Its strategy for a decarbonised future is to prolong the lives of those that can be saved - with no functional compromise.
“Each of the cars have their own quirks that you have to work with, not against”.
